Sri Siddhivinayak devotees supporting HJS stand against trust management

Mumbai : There is disapproval over Siddhivinayak Trust’s mismanagement, its politicization by the Government and the resultant predicament the devotees are made to go through. The Hindu Jana-jagruti Samiti has been holding demonstrations on every Tuesday in front of the Siddhivinayak temple to protest against the mismanagement and create awareness among people. Devotees are now supporting HJS’s drive.

One of the devotees expressed his views that all should unite against the politicians and oppose their moves. Devotees feel that HJS is doing a good job and people misappropriating funds donated by people should be taught a lesson. Many devotees had various opinions to express. Some of them felt that as people would see the results of the agitation, they would realize its importance. One police constable felt that Only Hindu temples are demolished or taken over by the Government but nobody has guts to touch mosques. One devotee felt that everyone should join the agitation. Earlier it used to take 4-5 hours to get ‘darshan’ but since the agitation has started, devotees do not have to stand in the queue for hours together for ‘darshan’. There is definitely a positive (might be slow) effect, of the agitations. One devotee felt that temple administration should not charge one rupee for taking care of devotees’ footwares and the Trust has lot of money, still they are looting the devotees. One of the lady-devotees said that it was wrong to charge Rs.50/ -, Rs.100/- or Rs.500/- to get the ‘darshan’. She felt that the administration women with small children have to stand in the queue and are not let in. She felt that HJS was rightly agitating for the cause.
