Shri. Sagar Chopdar

Mumbai : Shri. Sagar Chopdar, HJS Coordinator of Mumbai, Thane and Raigad has registered a complaint against ‘Vaibhav Travels’ with the Department of Motor vehicles, and the Police for charging for overcharging for a bus ticket. Shri. Sagar Chopdar has registered a written complaint in Khanda Colony Police Station in Panvel, and with Motor vehicles Regional Transport Department in Panvel via E-mail.

1. Shri. Sagar Chopdar booked an online ticket through the RedBus App for the 29th of August on an air conditioned sleeper-bus of Vaibhav Travels going from Kalamboli (Panvel) to Kolhapur. He was charged Rs 1785; whereas the ticket on a State Transport Corporation bus of comparable kind costs Rs.781 only.

2. According to the Government directive, private travel organizations can charge a maximum rate not exceeding one-and-a-half times compared to the State Transport Corporation. Hence the ticket should have actually cost a maximum of Rs 1172 for air conditioned sleeper-bus going from Mumbai to Kolhapur; but ‘Vaibhav Travels’ charged Rs 613 over and above that amount.

3. Shri. Sagar Chopdar has demanded action against the driver, owner and managers and all connected to Vaibhav Travels for financial fraud.
