Issue of special ‘nudity’ issue of magazine ‘Chinha’ glorifying Husain

Mr. Sambhus and Mrs. Kshirsagar of HJS lodge complaint against Mr. Satish Naik, Editor of ‘Chinha’ for threatening them

Mumbai: Special issue of the magazine called ‘Chinha’ will be published on the subject of ‘nudity’. This issue glorifies anti-Hindu painter M. F. Husain. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS)’s members Mr. Ajay Sambhus and Mrs. Manisha Kshirsagar had gone to meet Mr. Satish Naik the Editor of the said magazine to prevent glorification of Husain; but he intimidated them; therefore, a complaint has been lodged with Dombivali (East) Police Station under clause 507 of Indian Penal Code as a non-cognizable offence.

‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ had published the news about ‘nudity’ special issue glorifying Husain after which some devout Hindus called up Naik to register protest. This enraged Mr. Naik and he kept on calling Mrs. Manisha Kshirsagar. Mrs. Kshirsagar twice answered Mr. Naik’s call and later did not pick up his calls. Mr. Naik, therefore, used another phone number to call her and intimidated her. He asked her, “Why did you bring HJS members to my house without informing me? You are only responsible for all the protest calls, I am receiving. I am going to lodge complaint against you for cheating.” He called up Mr. Sambhus and told him, “We were going to publish both the sides about Husain which did not mean that we were taking his side. Yesterday, you spoke nicely; but why did you give the information to the newspapers?” (Newspapers are the fourth pillar of democracy; therefore, if Hindus approach newspaper to inform about their religious sentiments getting hurt, then what is wrong with that? – Editor SP)

Mr. Sambhus told him very calmly, “You had said that we could burn your issues if we did not agree with the views it advocated. We wanted to tell you that nothing anti-Dharma should be published; but you were not in a mood to listen. We gave that information to some newspapers.” Mr. Naik said, “You have deceived me. (First he hurts religious sentiments of Hindus and if they protest at thought level, makes such accusations. It is like a thief accusing a policeman ! – Editor SP) You have been vicious. (If one reports the truth, how can he be called as vicious ? – Editor SP) I am getting phone calls. I will see to you and Mrs. Kshirsagar.” Mr. Naik was talking very angrily on top of his voice; therefore, Mr. Sambhus and Mrs. Kshirsagar have lodged a complaint against him as individuals. (Mr. Sambhus and Mrs. Kshirsagar have once again proved that HJS always follows the lawful path even if the other person is misbehaving with the members ! – Editor SP)

Protest: Magazine ‘Chinha’ to glorify Anti-Hindu painter M F Husain

April 13, 2011

Chaitra Shukla Dashami, Kaliyug Varsha 5113
Thane (Maharashtra):
A special issue of ‘Chinha’ magazine on ‘nudity’ is going to be published soon. There will be articles glorifying anti-Hindu painter M F Husain in the periodical. Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met Mr. Satish Naik, the Editor of this periodical and tried to explain to him about Husain; but Mr. Naik was very rude and expressed his resolve to publish the said issue. (Hindus must note that those who are glorifying Husain are equally guilty and admonish such persons in lawful manner ! – Editor SP)

The above information has been published on the websites of ‘Dainik Sakaal’ and ‘Chinha’. According to this information, history of the ‘nude’ pictures will be published in this issue. The topic related to nude pictures of Hindu Deities drawn by Hindu-hater Husain is also going to be touched upon and there will be discussions on ‘Decency and vulgarity’. A photo of anti-Hindu Husain has been published on the website for advertising about the special issue. On seeing this advertisement, members of HJS visited Mr. Naik at his residence at Kalher. (HJS is very prompt in taking action against any incident taking place which is against Hindu Dharma. All Hindus should therefore, take part in its activities and perform their duty towards Dharma ! – Editor SP) Mr. Naik was informed about anti-Hindu Husain’s paintings hurting religious sentiments of Hindus and various agitations undertaken by HJS in this context.

The members of HJS requested Mr. Naik that a person like Husain, who had hurt religious sentiments of millions of Hindus with his art,  had no remorse about his action; moreover, he had justified his action; should not be praised through the special issue. Mr. Naik said, “In this issue, we will be publishing both the sides of Husain. Every person can have a different outlook while seeing his paintings. (Can such persons, who do not understand that drawing indecent pictures of Deities and justification of such paintings are sins, be called as Hindus? – Editor SP) If you want to agitate against our issues or you want to burn our issues, please go ahead.” (If the matter was concerning followers of other religions, would Mr. Naik dare to talk in such insolent manner? – Editor SP) Mr. Satish Kocharekar of HJS said, “HJS has always undertaken all its campaigns in lawful manner. We thought that you might be a believer in God; therefore, we felt that you should not glorify Husain; but if you are not going to change your mind, HJS will oppose in lawful manner,” Mr. Naik was given a written representation. Mr. Ajay Sambhus, Abhijit Bhojane and Mrs. Manisha Kshirsagar of HJS were present on the occasion.
