Bhagyanagar (Telangana) : India was declared as a secular country after independence. The corrupt political leaders and administrative officers in this secular Bharat have, however, looted the country so much that the country has now become insolvent. The evil eye of such modern ‘Gazanis’ fell on funds available with temples and they started taking over management of temples for having access to their funds and lands. Earlier, kings used to build temples and even donate money for the temples; but today’s secular government doesn’t give a single rupee to temples; moreover, it is looting temples’ funds. The richest temples in this country viz. Shri Tirupati Devasthan, Sabarimala Devasthan, Shirdi’s Saibaba temple, Mukambika Temple at Kollur, Jagannath Mandir at Puri etc have been taken over by the respective State Governments; but this secular Government doesn’t apply same laws to all and doesn’t take over management of any mosque or church. There is corruption in running these temples which are under control of the governments. Misappropriation of ornaments worth Rs. 45000 crores have been reported at Shri Tirupati Devasthan and several wrong things are taking place such as- not making public, findings of  inquiry report; corruption in giving contract for making ‘prasad laddus’; appointing Christian employees at this Devasthan, to stop performing religious rituals in this temple, remove traditional priests and appoint priest on salary; using Devasthan’s money for government schemes instead of using for ‘Vedapathashala’, for imparting Dharmashikshan to Hindus etc.

Government, which is claiming to be secular, is distributing money to non-Hindus, which is offered by devotees to God, said Amma Kondavetty Jyotirmayee during a press conference.

‘Mandir Swarajya’ movement is therefore, being staged by pro-Hindu organizations and renowned people from religious field coming together for release of Hindus’ temples all over the country, from clutches of government. Demand was also made to release temples taken over by governments, from all over India and handed over to managing committees of Hindus formed under guidance of Shankaracharya or Dharmacharya. Shri. Chetan Gadi, State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Shri. Lalitkumar, the State-Chief of ‘Hindu Janashakti’, Shri. Rakesh, Chief of ‘Akhand Bharat Sena’ and Shri. Ravindra Reddy, State-Chief of ‘Hindu Devalaya Parirakshan Samiti’ shared the dais.

Efforts are on for releasing Hindus’ temples ! – Chetan Gadi, HJS

Shri. Chetan Gadi said on the occasion that Supreme Court in its verdict dated 6th January 2013 in case of Shri Nataraj Mandir against Tamil Nadu Government filed by Dr. Subramanyam Swami, had quashed Tamil Nadu Government’s order for taking over this temple. It was also stated in this verdict that the Government cannot take over temples under the guise of their mismanagement. In such situations, how can political leaders, who are unable to run the State Governments properly, claim to take over temples? The Constitution of this country says equal right for all but in these temples taken over by governments, tickets are sold in the name of ‘VIP Darshan’ charging Rs. 300/- for quick ‘darshan’ though ordinary devotees stand in queue for ‘darshan’ for many hours. Only in Andhra Pradesh, 70,000 acres of land belonging to temples has been brought under control of the Government while it is accused that 1600 acres of land owned by ShriShailam Temple has been donated to Christian missionaries. Hindus from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have now come together and are trying to release Hindus’ temples from clutches of State Governments.

All Hindus need to become alert towards this issue and join the movement for freedom of temples. Demonstrations have been organized on Sunday, 3rd February at ‘Dharna Chowk’, Indira Park at Bhagyanagar and appeal was made to all Hindu devotees to participate in large number.
