MLA Rajesh Kshirsagar demands stringent action against guilty in PMDS scam

MLA Rajesh Kshirsagar

Nagpur : During last year’s Legislative Assembly session, attention was drawn to scams related to 3067 temples falling under the purview of Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti (PMDS) and Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis  had promised on 8th April 2015 that action would be taken against the guilty by conducting inquiry within 6 months; however, the special investigating team (SIT) has not yet submitted its report on action taken against the guilty; therefore, the old members are still let loose. The corrupt committees of Deavsthans with the old members should therefore, be dissolved immediately. New members should be inducted and SIT should present report on inquiry into scam for taking stringent action against the guilty, was the demand made by Shiv Sena MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar on 17th December, during Assembly session.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad (HVP) and other devotees had exposed scam involving billions of rupees related to 3067 temples managed by PMDS including Shri Mahalakshmi temple. As a result, inquiry was started into PMDS by SIT and into Tulajapur Devasthan Samiti by State CID; but there is deliberate delay in conducting these inquiries for years.

It is therefore, likely that proofs could be destroyed due to such delay, leading to generation of rage amongst devotees. The Government should complete investigations in next 3 months and taking moral responsibility of mismanagement of funds, it should take stringent action against all guilty so as to avoid committing sin of robbing God’s money. All corrupt Government Devasthan Committees should be immediately dissolved, was the demand made by pro-Hindu organizations through demonstrations staged from time to time. Pro-Hindu organizations also staged demonstrations near Vidhan Bhavan in Nagpur and raised slogans.
