Nagar (Maharashtra): While the dispute on proposed construction of memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Arabian Sea is going on, the Maharashtra Government has excised the reference of Dadoji Konddev as the teacher and Guru of Shivaji Maharaj from the text book of 4th standard and has created a new row in the State. A press conference was held at the District Library by all pro-Hindu organizations to oppose this unpardonable and wrong change carried out in the Government’s History text books and to put forth true historical facts before the people.

Shri. Bhagawan Phulsundar, former Shiv Sena mayor of Nagar said, “Shiv Sena protests against the Government for changing the history related to Dadoji Konddev in text books. Shiv Sena will take a lead in uniting all pro-Hindu parties to stage agitations.” HBP. Dr. Misal of Warakari Sampradaya said, “The Government should have at least taken into account public opinion on the subject before carrying out such changes in the history books. It is therefore, necessary to come together to fight against such government.”

Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the Pune-Nagar district coordinator of HJS said that Dadoji Konddev was the ‘guru’ of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is a true fact of history. Renowned historians like Jaisingrao Pawar, Keluskar, Pandurang Balkawade have presented evidence and therefore, the government should not have changed the true history. Shri. Gautan Karale of Bajarang Dal said that he and his party condemned the government and his organization would take part in all agitations against the Government.

Shri. Sambhaji Kadam of Shiv Sena, Shri. Santosh Vairagi, Shri. Rhushabha Gadia, H.B.P. Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Shinde were present on the occasion. It was informed that all pro-Hindu Organizations will hold demonstrations in front of the office District Collector on Thursday.

Pune (Maharashtra): Agitation, against removal of the name of Dadoji Kondadev from the text books of 4th standard by the government due to the pressure tactics used by Maratha Sanghatana, was intensified today. Devout Hindus expressed their anger by throwing shoes at the effigies of Purudhottam Khedekar, Shrimat Kokate and M. M. Deshmukh. They also burnt copies of books titled ‘Dadoji Kondadev Hatawa’ and ‘Mi Dasbodh Jalanar’ (I will burn Dasbodh – Holy text written by Swami Samarth Ramdas). Pundit Dharmaveer Arya, Advocate Devidas Shinde, Shri. Nikhil Vatkar of Omkar Manch, Shri. Prashnat Shinde along with more than hundred devout Hindus participated in this agitation.

In the meeting held later, Shri. Milind Ekbote of Samasta Hindu Aghadi said, “It is not right to criticize Dadoji Kondadev and Samartha Ramdas Swami just because they were Brahmins by birth. ‘Shivshahi’ is created only when ‘Brahmatej’ and ‘Kshatratej’ combine. Muslims could be defeated due to this combination. If Hindus keep on fighting like this, Hindustan will soon turn into Pakistan.”

Issue of removing reference of Dadoji Konddev from 4th standard text book!

Pune (Maharashtra): The reference of Dadoji Konddev has been omitted from the 4th standard History text book by Maharashtra Government under the pressure exercised by Sambhaji Brigade and Purushottam Khedkar, Shrimant Kokate etc. of Maratha Mahasangh. In a press conference held by furious pro-Hindu Organizations to protest against such omission, Smt. Himani Savarkar said that if these people can not create history, they should not at least, change the history.

She also declared about agitation to be started against this issue. The press conference was attended by Shri. Milind Ekbote of Samasta Hindu Aghadi, Shri. Sunil Ghanavat district coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Nagar and Pune districts, office bearers of different pro- Hindu organizations among others.

Himanitai said further, "Excision of Dadoji Konddev from text book does not indicate love and respect towards Shivaraya shown by the Government but, as a matter of fact, it shows hatred towards Brahmin community. If such is the case, these people may claim, in future, that Prabhu Ramchandra slayed Ravana because he was a Brahmin. If such things go on, we shall teach them a lesson." Shri. Milind Ekbote said that organization like Sambhaji Brigade has no moral right to use the name of Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj. Has Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj been alive today, he would have treated these people like he treated Khandoji Khopade.

Agitation on Monday, 15 June 2009!

Various pro-Hindu Organizations will stage demonstrations in front of the office of District Collector on Monday, 15th June, at 4.00 p.m. It is also planned to take out a symbolic funeral procession of the Corporation setting text books for Maharashtra State.

Issue of ‘Reference of Dadoji Konddev deleted from 4th std book’

Mumbai: Shri. Madhu Chavhan, MLA, BJP raised an objection against the 4th std book in which Historical reference to Dadoji Konddev was deleted; But he said in the Assembly as a special reference that he was receiving ‘SMS’ messages in that regard from furious Maratha Seva Sangh from all over Maharashtra.

President of the Maratha Seva Sangh, Shri. Purshottam Khedekar has summoned in his ‘SMS’, ‘O, Marathas! Destroy such attitudes immediately’. Shri. Jayant Patil assured the Assembly that he would look into the matter and would take proper action.

Dadoji Kondadev excised from fourth standard text book

Mumbai: A reference to Dadoji Kondadev and his picture included in the last year’s History text book for fourth standard has been excised in this year’s text book. Shri. Madhu Chavan, a BJP MLA said in his strong criticism during the session of Legislative Council that the government is not only encouraging communalism but also confusing future generations by teaching them wrong history. It is abominable on the part of the government to yield to pressure tactics of such communal groups and excise the true history from text books. The State Government is thus insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by making changes in his life history.

Last year’s history

Shivaraya was trained under the supervision of Dadoji Kondadev. He was trained in horse-riding, use of armory & weapons, wrestling etc. Shivaraya also used to accompany Dadoji in managing the estate. In this book, there is a picture of Dadoji Kondadev observing Shivaji during his training.

This year’s wrong history

Shahaji Raje had appointed few teachers to train Shivaraya in fighting war. A picture of Shahaji Raje supervising Shivaraya has been published along with this matter with the description under this picture that ‘Training of Shivaraya under the supervision of Shahaji Raje’. There is no reference of Dadoji Kondadev in the chapter.

Shahaji Raje was not in Pune when Chhatrapati Shivaraya was being trained in various arts and subjects. The error of the Government is most condemnable. The State Government should take a serious note of the same and take action against the concerned. Besides, true history should be taught to students. The above views were expressed by Shri. Madhu Chavan, a MLA of BJP.
