Lord Ganesha idol damaged at Modnimb in Maharashtra

Modnimb (Solapur): A few anti-Hindus damaged the idol of Sree Ganesha in Sree Ganesha temple located on the Station Road. (How long Hindus are going to tolerate such assaults? When are they going to be united to teach a lesson to such iconoclasts anti-Hindus? – Editor)
The incident has caused an outrage among the locals. (The only reaction of Hindus when idols of deities are damaged is to get enraged. Therefore, such incidents are recurring – Editor). As a mark of protest, the natives observed ‘bandh’ for a day. Security has since been increased in the area. (Whenever Hindus’ religious sentiments are hurt, police security is strengthened; but they do not take any stringent action against those responsible for hurting their sentiments to prevent such incidents in future – Editor) Police has not yet arrested anyone in this regard.

Sree Ganesha idol was consecrated in a temple opposite Sanganbasaveshwar Mutt’s commercial complex. Tuesday midnight, some anti-Hindus damaged the idol. Devotees who went to the temple on Wednesday morning noticed the breakage and the news spread like a fire. All furious devout Hindus got together and demanded to arrest the culprits. An appeal was made to observe ‘bandh’ and the natives responded wholeheartedly.

Shri. Namadev Mittewad, police official from sub-zone went to the scene. He tried to find the culprits with the help of police dogs; but dogs could not lead the police to any clue and went on going round the place. The idol was earlier consecrated by Shri. Kuran Gidde, the Sarpanch. Later, a meeting of ‘Peace Committee’ was held in the office of ‘Gram panchayat’. (Hindus must realize that whenever there is denigration of their objects of worship, the Government puts on an act of such investigations and then closes down the file – Editor). There was a demand to increase surveillance in the night. The meeting was attended by Shri. Kuran Gidde, Sarpanch and Shri. Shashikant Shinge, tehsildar.
