Famous Vitthal Mandir’ doors to be closed for security reasons

Pandharpur (Maharashtra): Importance has to be given to security of Vitthal Mandir rather than sentiments and the Administration has decided to close all entrance doors of the temple other than the main entrance from ‘Namdev Payari (Stairs)’, said Shri. Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil, the Guardian Minister and he made an appeal to people to cooperate with the police. He was speaking in a meeting taken to review security arrangements to be made on the occasion of ‘Kartiki Ekadashi’. (The root cause of the problem is terrorism and elimination of terrorism is the permanent solution to this problem. Closing the doors would be a temporary arrangement – editor).

Shri. Mohite-Patil held a meeting of Temple Committee, local Mathadheesh, citizens and security personnel to solve the problem caused due to police bullying under the name of security. Intelligence Bureau has the information about Vitthal Mandir on the hit list of destructive elements in this country. Special trained Commandos have been appointed at the temple. Besides, sand sacks have been kept at different places to combat terrorist attack. Ban has been imposed on carrying mobile phones, purses or bags. People are, therefore, complaining about the inconvenience caused due to harsh security arrangements.
