Demolished temple to be re-built

Barnala: A temple demolition issue was sorted out when municipal council authorities assured to rebuilt the demolished part of the temple here. Devotees and a number of Hindu organisations went on a dharna on the demolition of the newly constructed portion of Shiv temple at Dhanola road. Dharna was lifted when MC president Makhan Sharma assured to compensate the loss by rebuilding it.

Number of devotees lead by Vishaw Hindu parishad, Bajrang Dal and BJP leaders went on a dharna at the Dhanola road and demanded action against the council authorities. They threatened the authorities to intensify the struggle if the temple was not re-constructed within 24 hours. Devotees blocked the road and raised slogans against the authorities.

The action was taken on the complaint of some lawyers that devotees have encroached public land to expand the temple.

Sharma and vice-president Mahesh Lotta reached there in the evening and felt sorry for the demolition and assured to compensate the loss by reconstructing the demolished portion.
