Govt very serious about Love Jihad law; decision soon – Assures CM Eknath Shinde

In a meeting at Vidhan Bhawan in Nagpur, Chief Minister Hon. While demanding Eknath Shinde to speed up the Love Jihad Act, Hindu organizations!

The matter of enacting the ‘Love Jihad’ law is extremely serious from the Government’s perspective. In the context of the law, the State Government has taken several steps. Soon, you will understand the decision in this regard, assured Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He gave this assurance while speaking at a meet-ing organised with representatives of various marches that have taken place across Maharashtra against ‘Love Jihad’. At this event, the State’s Rural Development Minister Girish Mahajan, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Sanjay Rathod, Shiv Sena’s Chief Whip Bharatshet Gogawale, and Pratap Sarnaik, an MLA from Shiv Sena, were also present.

Various organisations affiliated with Hindu associations participated in the distinguished committee, including Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan, Sakal Hindu Samaj, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad, Sanatan Sanstha, Sankalp Hindu Rashtra Abhiyan, Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Mahasangh, National Youth Federation, All-Language Brahman Mahasangh, Chitpavan Brahman Mahasangh, and others. Prominent figures such as Advocate Vaishali Paranjpe, Snehal Joshi, Sunil Ghanwat, Shankar Deshmukh, Parag Phadnis, Kamlesh Kataria, Nilesh Vatakar, Dhananjay Gaikwad, Kailas Deshmukh, Sagar Deshmukh, Ashish Sun-thwal, Gaurav Baitade, Ravi Gyanchandani, Umakant Ranade, Rahul Pandey, Shrikant Pisolkar, Abhijeet Polke, and Karna Thote were also present.

The State coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Mr Sunil Ghanwat, stated that in Maharashtra, pro-tests against ‘Love Jihad’ had been organised in every District, Taluka, and city, with more than 50 fronts. On this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured that a stringent law against ‘Love Jihad’ would be enacted in Maharashtra as well. However, a year has passed, and such a law has not been enacted. But in States like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, etc., laws against ‘Love Jihad’ have been enacted. Now is the time to enact the law in Maha-rashtra as well, and this is the demand of the committee.

Chief Minister Shinde clarified the Government’s role, saying that you are aware of the Government’s pol-icy. Therefore, decisions are being made one by one regarding ‘Love Jihad,’ starting with each District. The Gov-ernment’s stand is clear, and this has been demonstrated through the actions taken in Pratapgad. Therefore, the Government fully agrees with your stand. To show what the Government has done regarding the law, a decisive meeting will be held in Mumbai with a few people, in which you will be provided with information.
