HJS demands preventive action against MANS for opposing Pandit Dhirendra Shastri

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) has opposed Bageshwar Dham’s Pandit Dhirendra Shastri ‘s programme at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and has also leveled many baseless allegations against him. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti publicly condemns the MANS activists who are trying to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and disturb social peace by harassing Hindu saints. Hindu society will never tolerate if the MANS activists create disturbances in Pandit Dhirendra Shastri’s programme or create law and order problems. In a press conference held here, HJS coordinator for North Maharashtra, Mr Prashant Juverkar has demanded strict preventive action against the officials of the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti who are trying to roadblocks in programmes of Hindu Saints and those antiHindus who are opposing this program.

Mr Juvekar said that in the past too Pandit Dhirendra Shastri’s program in Nagpur was strongly opposed. However, subsequent police investigation cleared Pandit Dhirendra Shastri of any wrongdoing. So MANS had no reason to protest now. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri does not show any miracles like the ‘Changai Sabhas’ of Christians. Pandit Shashtri is not fooling anyone with the false claims like those Christian missionaries who say that the ‘the blind will see, the lame will walk’. Yet MANS activists do not oppose the healing meetings of the Christian missionaries, nor do they ever challenge those who indulge in self flagellation with sharp objects in the name of maatam. This proves that MANS only targets Hindu saints.

Marathwada organizer of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Ms Priyanka Lone, Founder President of Sankalp Hindu Rashtra Abhiyan Mr Kamlesh Kataria and President of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Devagiri Province Mr Subhash Mokaria were also present.

Ms Priyanka asked how does this program threated the state’s social peace? One wonders if this is some conspiracy by MANS. The program does not involve any action which would lead to the registration of an offense under any section of the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act currently in force in Maharashtra. The fears we voiced when we opposed this law are coming true today. MANS wanted to trap the Hindu saints through this law, and strike at the very heart of Hindu Dharma. 15 out of 27 sections of the Act were deleted after our opposition. Even today, this law is being used to issue threats. This law is unfair to Hindus. So we demand that this law be scrapped.
