Immediately pass the ‘Advocate Protection Law’ in Karnataka ! – Adv. Amrutesh N P

Special online discussions on finding the mastermind of the attack on devout Hindu advocate Krishnamurthy

Advocate Amrutesh N P

Advocate Krishnamurthy is a local leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and is the main advocate pleading the case of Gauri Lankesh murder case in Karnataka. He also extends moral, religious, and legal support to pro-Hindu organisations like Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Sanatan Sanstha, and local devout Hindu activists; therefore, he was targeted in this manner. It is a conspiracy to murder advocate Krishnamurthy. No protection is provided to people who fight for the protection of ‘Hindutva’. We have, therefore, been demanding for the last five years, to pass a law to provide protection to advocates. Karnataka High Court advocate N P Amrutesh demanded that Karnataka Government should immediately pass the ‘Advocate Protection Law’. He was speaking in the special online discussion programme held by HJS on the topic of ‘Who is the mastermind of the attack on advocates fighting cases for devout Hindu activists ?’

Implement the Uttar Pradesh (UP) model in Karnataka !

Mohan Gowda, the State Spokesperson of HJS for Karnataka, stated on the occasion that 35 devout Hindu leaders were killed in Karnataka in the recent past and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has confirmed the involvement of the radical Islamic organisations, viz. Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in most of these cases. It is a systematic plot to create terror amongst devout Hindu leaders, activists, and advocates to stop them from working for devout Hindus. During the Congress regime, devout Hindu activists were killed by gangs in the Mysore District; even then, cases were not filed against the offenders under the anti-terrorism law. The mastermind of these attacks has been granted bail repeatedly, and the Government pleaders also didn’t oppose such bail. The cases of devout Hindus’ murders are not tried in Fast-Track Courts; therefore, there is no fear of the law in the offenders. Advocates like Krishnamurthy should be provided armed protection. Karnataka needs leadership like UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for creating fear amongst the criminals; only then, incidents like killings of devout Hindu activists, threats to judges, pelting stones at Hindu religious processions, etc will be stopped. Mr Gowda said that ‘The UP model’ should be implemented in Karnataka.

Advocate Divya Balehittal practising in Karnataka High Court expressed her views in the discussion programme that devout Hindu advocates are being targeted. The attacker firing at advocate Krishnamurthy was an experienced shooter. The bullet was aimed at advocate Krishnamurthy’s head, but fortunately, he was saved. Though Karnataka Police claim to have taken the matter seriously, nobody has been arrested in this case so far.
