Gomantak Mandir Mahasangh appeals temple trustees to submit relevant documents to the Government at the earliest

Panaji – Goa Government has planned to make a strategy and take action against the illegal religious structure in the State as per the Supreme Court order. In this regard Gomantak Mandir and Dhaarmik Sanstha Mahasangh (GMDSM) is making following demands to the trustees of temples and small shrines in Goa.

Every temple and small shrines trustees should check whether their temple or shrine’s name has been included in the government’s list of illegal religious structures. Secondly if their name is found in the list then all the documents required by the Government should be produced in the scheduled time by the temple or small shrine trustees to the government. Trustees of the respective temple or shrine should call a meeting of mahajans (Worshippers of the Deity as their Kuldevata), devotees of the temple and make them aware about the decision taken by the Government. Also devotees should also be made active in protecting their religious place. Trustees should contact with the people’s representatives asking them to pressurise the Government to protect their temple or shrine. Temple trustees should start Dharmashikshan (religious teaching ) classes  in the temple in order to instate pride for Hindu Dharma in the devotees.

During the last Congress regime, the number of illegal religious structures in the list declared by the then Government had to be reduced to half  due to the joint protest staged by GMDSM and trustees of temples all over Goa. It is now need of the hour for fight unitedly. Temple or small shrine trustees expecting any assistance from GMDSM can contact Mr. Prashant Chanekar on 9404956303.
