Decision looting temple money is most condemnable ! – Vidyadhar Joshi

The Government makes so much noise about secularism, then why it doesn’t take funds from churches and mosques, instead of temples ? The decision looting temple’s money is most condemnable. The Government should not try Hindus’ patience and immediately cancel Charity Commissioner’s decision to use Devasthan’s funds for fodder camps, was the demand made by Shri. Vidyadhar Joshi, while addressing RHA staged on 24th November, at Samvidhan Chowk, Nagpur.

He said further that the Government, which has been elected to power in the name of ‘Hindutva’, has started looting temples’ funds to use under various Government schemes. Hindus’ temples are treated like milking cow by the Government. Temples’ funds are demanded for using in collective marriage functions, irrigation schemes, famine prevention scheme, Chief Minister’s aid fund; so also for Prime Minister and President’s tours etc. Hindu devotees are not offering money in temples for running Government.

Charity Commissioner’s decision to give Devasthan’s funds to four fodder camps should be immediately cancelled ! – Lobheshwar Tonge

Demonstrations were staged under auspices of RHA at Tehasil Chowk. The Government was elected to power by promising to protect ‘Hindutva’ but it has started looting temples’ money in the name of financing its own various schemes. Inquiry conducted into misappropriation of temple-funds by Government trustees is just a farce and all looters are freely moving around. Charity Commissioner has taken decision to give money for fodder camps instead of taking any action against the corrupt trustees which is most condemnable. The Government should not take Hindus for granted and should immediately cancel Charity Commissioner’s decision, was the demand made by Shri. Lobheshwar Tonge of HJS during demonstrations staged under RHA. Activists of HJS and Sanatan and ten Shiv Sena party-workers participated in demonstrations.

Demands made in all 3 demonstrations

  • Supreme Court has passed a verdict allowing women from all age-groups to enter Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Thousands of women and men from all over India, including Kerala, organized protest marches after this verdict and opposed to women’s entry in temple. Kerala police arrested more than 3500 devotees staging agitations and filed cases against them. The cases filed against devotees should be immediately withdrawn.
  • Law should be passed for protection of religious traditions observed in ShaniShinganapur shrine
  • Inquiry should be conducted into suspicious death of the main witness Fr. Kuriakose in nun’s rape case and bail granted to the accused bishop Franco Mulakkal should be cancelled.
