Immerse Ganesh idols in flowing water ! – HJS

Bhadrapad Shukla Shashthi, Kaliyug Varsha 5112

Nashik (Maharashtra): Few organisations like Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS) and some individuals have been spreading misunderstanding  among the people since past few years that immersion of Sri Ganesha idols cause water-pollution. This is completely wrong.

Many environmentalists have proved that ‘Plaster of Paris (PoP)’ is converted to ‘gypsum’ after dissolving in water. This gypsum is used in purification of water whereas the eco-friendly idols made of paper pulp absorb oxygen while dissolving in water affecting the aquatic animals; therefore, it is more correct, from the viewpoint of spirituality and science, to immerse idols in flowing water rather than their donation, said Mr. Sunil Ghanavat of HJS in a press conference held in Nashik.

Participation by Bajarang Dal
Mr. Vijay Mohite of Bajarang Dal and Shri. Sunil Khode of BJP were also presnt on the occasion. Mr. Mohite said that Bajarang Dal would be participating in the said drive this year.Mr. Khode said that their Ganesha mandal celebrates Ganeshotsava in auspicious atmosphere by playing devotional songs. Mr. Mahendra Kahstriya explained how various festivals and religious observances were complementary to the conservation of environment.
