Dhaka, Bangladesh – The High Court of Bangladesh has granted bail to ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in 2 out of the 4 cases registered against him. The court has scheduled 16 August for the hearing on his bail applications regarding the remaining 2 cases.
Chinmoy Krishna Das faces charges across 4 cases, including attempt to murder, vandalism, and obstruction of government duties. Earlier, on 30 April last year, the High Court had granted him bail in a sedition case; however, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh subsequently stayed that order.

What Taslima Nasreen said
Speaking to journalists in Kolkata, Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen stated, “We do not know why the government arrested him. My belief is that he was organizing the Hindu community of Bangladesh, and that likely became the reason for his arrest.”
