Police should arrest the offenders at the earliest.” This was the earnest demand made in the meeting of chiefs of ‘Dindis’ and warakaris. HBP. Ramakrushna Maharaj said, “This is a very disgraceful happening. Hindus must wake up to avoid such incidents taking place in future.” Shri. Shriram Kane gave details of similar incidents of damaging idols of Deities taking place in temples in States like Kashmir and Goa. Shri. Panvel: Idols in Vitthal-Rukhmini temple damaged by anti-Hindus

July 9, 2009

Ashadh Krushna Dwitiya

This is a second incidence of breaking an idol in Panvel!

Those Hindus who beg for votes do not feel like taking any step against the incidences of breaking of the idols that are on the rise except forwarding a memorandum. Ask them to justify about this whenever you meet them!

Panvel (Maharashtra): Unknown antisocial elements tried to destroy the Vitthal-Rukhmini idol in the temple in Chichpada, Vitthalwadi. This incidence took place on Monday, 6.7.2009 at night. (Hindus, remember enemies are at the door step. The breakage of the idols is on the rise Hindus have to unite to stop this as police is incapable in handling them! – Editor SP)

All the proud Hindus in Chichpada area are very furious as their feelings are hurt. Shri. Haridas Dnyanoba Gayakwad, caretaker of the temple, has lodged a complaint at the Police Station in Panvel. The temple is owned by Shri. Haridas Dnyanoba Gayakwad and his brothers Harishchandra and Janardan. All of them are caretakers. On 6.7.2009, Shri. Haridas went home after ‘Arati’ around 8 in the evening. Shri. Jagannath Chowdhari (35 years) and Shri. Asok Jadhav (45 years) were sleeping there in the courtyard. Some antisocial elements opened the door of the sanctum and tried to destroy the idol.

On 7 July 2009 when Shri. Haridas came to perform puja ritual as usual and when he was removing the dress from Rukhmini’s idol it tilted. He caught it in time and placed it slowly in its place. When he observed the idol carefully he noticed the legs of the idol were severed by a cutter and the idol of Vitthal was hit by an axe damaging it. Senior inspector, Shri. Suresh Bhosle collected the information at the venue after getting the news. 4 police are appointed there to keep a watch. Police have registered a case against the unknown antisocial elements under section 295, 379 and 511 of Indian Penal Code. (What else do the police do beyond this? – Editor SP) H.B.P. Ramkrushna Maharaj got the information at the temple; but Shri. Shashikant Keni, Sarpanch, Chinchpada never tried to do anything of the sort.

Accused could not be caught immediately!- Police Inspector Ahamad Usman Pathan

Varkaris met police inspector Ahamad Pathan . Among Hindus, H.B.P. Govind Maharaj Wahalkar, H.B.P. Ramkishan Maharaj, H.B.P. Madhukar Maharaj, H.B.P. Mahesh Maharaj, H.B.P. Shyam Maharaj, H.B.P. Vishwanath Maharaj, H.B.P. Anant Patil, Shri. Janardan Patil, Shri. Bapu Ravkar, spokesperson of District Raigad of HJS, Spoksperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Abhay Vartak, all Varkaris and devout Hindus demanded quick arrest of the criminal antisocial elements. Pathan said. “Since 24 hours have passed since the incident not possible to arrest them immediately.” (Why not? Why pay taxes in order to pay such police with negative attitude? – Editor SP)

It would wrong to say that we were not serious about such incidences when we take serious action against any denigration of the Religious Prayer Houses. (If this is so then why the culprits were not arrested fast? – Editor SP) If we were not serious then we would not have acted so eagerly yesterday. (Police have done their duty only. There is no need to praise oneself for that. If the culprits were arrested then this statement would have been correct. – Editor SP) I came here despite my sickness. No religious person would act like this. (Devout Hindus too know this! – Editor SP) No one would be spared in this case. (Usual assurances by police in vain! – Editor SP)

We cannot pressurize anyone in this case,” he said. Why dog squad is not demanded as is done normally? asked the Varkaris. “While asking for the dog quad to search for the culprits, some technical formalities have to be completed. Until then we cannot get the dog squad.” Varkaris had a meeting today morning at ten in the same temple of Vitthal-Rukmini. If the criminals were not arrested in the next 4 days then a Morcha would be oraganised, warned H.B.P. Ramkrushna Maharaj, Raigad Section president of Varkari Mahamandal.

Devout Hindus upset about slow investigation from Panvel police!

Some unknown antisocial elements had severed both limbs of the idols of Sriram, Laxman, Sita and Hanuman in the temple near Navratna cafe, on Gujrathi Highschool road, Panvel on 3rd June 2009 and now this incident! Pro-Hindu organizations and Varkari sect are expressing furious reactions about both these incidences. Shri. Suresh Bhosle, Senior officer of Panvel police station has been given a memorandum regarding this on behalf of BJP. Police could not arrest the criminals destroying Sriram temple though a month has passed. (Shame on such police! – Editor SP) So the citizens are apprehensive about police arresting the criminals in Vitthalwadi incident. Hindus are upset about their slow investigation.
