Mumbai : ‘Gangs of Hasseepur’, a comedy show telecast on ZEE TV channel denigrated character of ‘Pitamah Bheeshmacharya’. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) opposed to such denigration after which the channel has rendered apology and promised to avoid such things in future. A letter has been sent to HJS to that effect. (HJS, although a small organization, is successful in its drives only because of God’s grace. All pro-Hindu activists need to realize this and start practicing spirituality ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

  1. Raju Shrivastav, a comedian had made mockery of the character of ‘Pitamah Bheeshmacharya’ stooping down to a very low level in a program called ‘Gangs of Hasseepur’ telecast on 18th May on ZEE TV channel. It was shown that Bheeshmacharya, referring to him as a confirmed bachelor, behaves indecently with women and deceives his landlord to get a room on rent etc.;which was very insulting.
  2. HJS wrote a letter to Dr. Subhashchandra of ZEE TV channel on 16th June protesting against such mockery. Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, HJS Coordinator discussed the issue with Secretary who forwarded HJS letter to its Law Department.
  3. Thereafter, Shri. Vatkar had detailed discussions with Shri. Sanjay Jain, Vice President, Law Department. Shri. Jain was given information about various activities undertaken by HJS for protection of nation and Dharma, along with Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad; making him understand that ZEE TV should help in such activities.
  4. Shri. Jain commended HJS and promised that his company would extend cooperation and stop programs which would lead to causing harm to Dharma.
  5. In a letter sent by him in this background, it is stated that as a responsible TV channel, ZEE company respects every person and religion. It was not the intention of the channel to hurt religious sentiments of anyone and it was not the intention to even insult ‘Pitamah Bheeshma’.
  6. HJS will take a decision in this regard after discussing the matter with legal experts. HJS has also made an appeal to devout Hindus that they should oppose, in lawful manner, to such programs.
