‘Star Maza’, a channel owned by a Christian foreigner trying vehemently for the Government to take over the wealth of Sri Padmanabh Mandir

Vicious anti-Hindu comments by the anchor

Compared to Hindu temples the churches have immense wealth. Churches are second highest owners of land. Churches get millions of rupees every year from abroad. Do these channels like ‘Star Maza’ utter a single word about the wealth owned by the churches? Then why do they have their eye on the wealth of temples? For Hindus do not attack?

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Looking to the corruption by rulers taking place in every field, it is wrong to hand over the temples to them. We all have witnessed that the blankets sent from abroad for the victims of earth quake were being put up for sell. Who will give guarantee that corruption would not take place with respect to the wealth of a temple once it is under the control of the Government? Just as the wealth is passed to the heir by right, the same way the wealth of a temple can be given to other temples in need. Devotee’s money should be used for religious work only, expressed Jagdguru Shankaracharya Sri Vidyanrusinh Bharati of Karveer Peeth(Seat) in a special programme, ‘Could the wealth of temples be used for the public?,  organised by ‘Star Maza’ channel. It was telecast on Tuesday (5th July) at 9.30 p.m. Mr. Prasanna Joshi was the anchor whose comments as usual were anti-Hindu.

The programme was organised in relation to the wealth of 1 lac crores of rupees found in the treasury of Sri Padmanabh Temple. Mr. D.M. Sukhtankar, Ex. President of Shirdi Sansthan, Dr. U.M. Pathan, a scholar of Saint’s literature and Mr. Nitin Kadam, trustee of Sri Siddhivinayak Mandir. (Will ‘Star Maza’ dare to telecast a show regarding the religious places of other faiths? – Editor SP)

Transactions of the temple money to be handled by selfless Dhramacharyas

Jagdguru Shankaracharya said on this occasion, “The income is divided into 10 parts in Hindu Dharma. According to the precepts of Hindu Dharma the income is divided into 10 parts. One out of them is offered to God for purifying the income, one for the poor, one for the relatives, one for the students and so on. As per the Maharashtra Government the trustees only are the owners of the wealth of the temple. So they should be taken into confidence in any transaction of temple money. Likewise the temple money can be in the name of the Deity in the temple and selfless Dharmacharya should be made in charge to disburse the money judiciously. The quality of selflessness is very important in this. In case of renovating any temple instead of asking for money as grant from any MLA,  it is worthwhile to use temple money for that purpose.”

Capability and credibility of the Government is shattered ! – D.M. Sukhtankar

Mr. Sukhtankar said,  “Those who are trustees of the temples also act in the interest of the society according to the policy of the establishment. It is wrong on the part of the Government to announce to bring all the temples under its control just by citing an example of some temple that is at fault; because the capability and credibility of the Government is shattered.

All should find a way out of it – Dr. U.M. Pathan

Dr. U.M. Pathan said, “Places of worship of all Faiths have money in their custody. God does not require money. If it reaches the common people then it is good. (If that is so then Dr. Pathan should try to take the money in Madarsas and Mosques and make use of it for commoners. – Editor SP)

Many Trust Boards undertake social work using that money. Let the money be used to eradicate poverty.” When Dr. Pathan was questioned about Islamic places of Worship, his earnest pressing subsided. He said, “No account is available of the lands owned by Vaqf Board. The money belonging to the places of worship should be utilised for the poor in the respective Faith. Many Muslims in their community are poor.” (Every Muslim tries to create sympathy for his own Faith and then speaks about the use of the money in Hindu Temples. – Editor SP) To say that the money in one place of worship to be used for any other Faith or for social work in general might lead to outrage. If the money is used in general then those who offer money would feel that their purpose of donating that money was not served. So trustees, people’s representatives, Government officer and devotees should find a way out of it sitting together.” (The temple money is an internal question of the Trustee and the devotees. How are the people’s representatives, Government officer connected to the temple money? Is there any connection of the people’s representatives and Government officer in case of a decision taken regarding the use of the property of any rich person? – Editor SP)

Mr. Nitin Kadam Said, “Whenthe situation regarding the wealth of a temple goes out of hands then the Government takes it over. (As if the Government is very honest and it is going to disburse the wealth of the temple judiciously. Will even a small child trust the Government today? – Editor SP) There is no harm in doing so; but Kerala Government should take a decision regarding Sri Padmanabha Temple.” (Has Mr. Nitin Kadam not realised the losses incurred due to Government controlling Sri Siddivinayak Temple or is he trying to support it in order to protect his own position? – Editor SP)

Vicious anti-Hindu comments by Prasanna Joshi

  • Why keep the wealth in temples idle? (What harm is there to keep temple money in temple itself? This is all white money. Do those, who are keeping an eye on this money, utter a word about their black money in Swiss bank? – Editor SP)
  • If such wealth remains with one community (that is Hindus) then its usefulness may be doubted. A religious Sanstha can bring the whole society together or can create rift in the society also, is our history. Accepting some lac of crores of rupees that the Sanstha can run a parallel society.  (This is a very dirty allegation against Hindus religious Sansthas! Never in the history of thousands of years of the country it has been observed that any religious Sanstha has created a parallel society! – Editor SP)
  • God takes care of all people in general, then this money should be utilised for the poor. (Prasanna Joshi should practice Spirituality for getting an experience of God. Born Hindus like Mr. Joshi talk wildly like this just to enhance ‘TRP’, are the real enemies of Hindu Dharma ! – Editor SP)
  • The trustees of the temple can misappropriate the temple money. One cannot say for whom they use the money ! (Joshi making irrelevant remarks against the trustees who follow strictly all the rules and regulations of the Government regarding the temple money. Has ‘Star Maza’ ever telecast boldly about any corrupt leader on high position so far when the frauds are rampant in the country?  – Editor SP)
  • Trustees cannot undertake higher aims like the Government. (What aims could the Government achieve when it is incapable of providing even 2 square meals for each person living in this country?- Editor SP)
