Harshala Patil, residing in a hostel room, used to regularly worship the idols of Shri Ganesh and Radha-Krishna kept in her room’s shrine. At the end of May, a Christian nurse moved into the accommodation and began continuously objecting to the shrine and initiating arguments. When Harshala returned from work on June 5, 2026, she found her shrine displaced, placed near the shoe-rack, and the idols thrown on the table. When questioned about this, the Christian nurse arrogantly made statements hurting religious sentiments, saying, “I am a Christian, I do not want your Gods in front of me, I do not believe in your Gods.”
When this incident was brought to the notice of the hospital management, they suspended the Christian nurse from her job on June 6, 2026. Harboring anger over this disciplinary action, she entered the room again the same evening on the pretext of collecting her belongings. Out of sheer vindictiveness, she once again placed the shrine near the shoe stand and threw the idols down. In the complainant’s absence, she desecrated the idols by throwing them to the floor three times and issued a direct, violent threat before leaving: “I am a Christian, I don’t believe in God. Tell Harshala to meet me outside the hostel, I will show her.”
Upon receiving information about this grave matter, Dr. Uday Dhuri (Mumbai Spokesperson, HJS), Mrs. Pravina Patil (Mumbai District Coordinator, Ranragini Shakha), Mr. Nishant Chaudhary, Mr. Dattatrey Sawant, and other devout Hindus met Senior Police Inspector Mr. Ajay Kamble of Nerul Police Station to demand immediate action. Taking serious cognizance of the matter, the police registered an FIR (No. 0311).
Speaking on this issue, Mrs. Pravina Patil of the Ranragini Shakha stated, “Such attacks on the centers of faith of Hindus and the desecration of Hindu deities in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Maharashtra will never be tolerated henceforth. While the promptness of the police in this matter is highly appreciable, it is imperative that the accused is arrested immediately to establish the fear of the law. Until the arrest is made, the Ranragini Shakha and other pro-Hindu organizations will continuously pursue this matter.”
