Satara : Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had promised during discussions with our delegation that 19 unauthorized rooms constructed by ‘Afzal Khan Memorial Trust’ on Pratapgad would be demolished. Other structure are under the purview of Revenue Department; therefore, other than rooms, durgah and other structure which is illegal and under Revenue Department should also be demolished immediately by the said department. The above demand was made by former MLA Shri. Nitin Shinde during press conference held at Vishramdham in Satara. Shri. Rajendra Shedage, ‘Shiva-bhakta’, Shiv Sena advocate Shirish Diwakar, Shiv Sena’s Dy. City-Chief Vishal Salunkhe, Shri. Hanamant Kadam, Shri. Anand Savardekar, Shri. Rohit Ghubade-Patil and Shri. Prashant Kadam of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) were present on the occasion.

Shri. Hanamant Kadam said, “Illegal constructions on Pratapgad should be immediately demolished as per High Court’s orders. How long are Shivaji-devotees going to be deprived of justice ?”

Shri. Nitin Shinde said…..

1. The Government should grant Rs. 100 crores for renovation of Pratapgad.

2. Few people are demanding that illegal structure of 19 rooms should be converted into a museum instead of demolishing but we strongly oppose it because illegal structure has to be demolished.

3. Fourteen policemen have been appointed for protection of illegal structure. Out of them 2 died of snake-bite. We demand that police force should be used for people’s protection and not for protection of illegal structure.
