Memoranda submitted to the administration in Ratnagiri district on behalf of Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh
Ratnagiri, Maharashtra – The FDA administration’s stance—singling out only the mahaprasad, bhandara, and annadan organised during Hindu religious events to demand licences, registration, and issue warnings of punitive action—is deeply biased and suspicious. If food safety regulations are essential, they must be enforced uniformly across all communities, regardless of religion, sect, or festival.
A memorandum expressing the intense resentment growing among the Hindu community and devotees over the unilateral action being taken under the guise of food safety, specifically targeting mahaprasad, bhandara, and annadan arranged during Hindu religious events, has been submitted to the state government. The memorandum was submitted on behalf of the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and all concerned administrative authorities. This memorandum has been submitted in Khed, Mandangad, Ratnagiri, and Rajapur within the district, along with demands from the Mahasangh for appropriate action.
1. Khed
The memorandum was submitted to Tehsildar Sudhir Sonawane here. On this occasion, during the submission of the memorandum, temple trustee Retired Captain Rajaramrao Bhosale from Beejghar, Sunil Bhosale, Bhagwan Jangam, Sameer Patne of Sai Mandir in Samarth Nagar, Anant Dalvi from Nandgaon, Vinod Bahutule from Khari, devout Hindus Praveen Lad, Siddhesh Devalekar, along with Vilas Bhuvad of HJS and the Mahasangh’s District Organiser Suresh Shinde, were present alongside other trustees.
2. Ratnagiri
While submitting the memorandum on behalf of the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh to Resident Deputy Collector Chandrakant Suryavanshi, present on the occasion were representatives of Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh, along with other Hindu organisations and temple trustees, including Govind Bharadwaj; Sunil Nalawade of Shri Ram Mandir; Nityanand Dalvi, Mangesh Raut of Shri Vitthal Rakhumai Mandir, Kuwarbav; Devendra Zhapdekar of Shri Kashivishveshwar Devasthan; Santosh Deshpande-Vadgaonkar of Shri Datta Mandir, Khalchi Aali; Sudhir Chavan of Shri Dev Mhasoba Shri Datta Mandir, Juve; Rajendra Sawant of Shri Navalai Devasthan in Nachane; Santosh Sawant of Shri Sai Seva Mitra Mandal; Nilesh Lad of Shri Hanuman Mandir, Kuwarbav; Raj Devrukhkar of Shri Chandikadevi Mandir, Ganpatipule; Kishor Bhute of Shri Hanuman Mandir, Mazgaon Road, Ratnagiri; and Shashikant Ghanekar and Vishnu Bagade of HJS, amonst others.
3. Rajapur
Here, the memorandum was submitted by trustees of various temples. This memorandum was accepted by Revenue Naib Tehsildar Sayali Gurav. Present on this occasion were Sandeep Malpekar, President of Shri Vitthal Ram Panchayatana Temple in Rajapur, Devendra Shetye of Shri Kamadevi Devasthan Trust, Vinod Gadikar of HJS, along with devotees Abhay Melekar, Prashant Pawar, and others.
4. Dapoli
The memorandum was submitted to Tehsildar Smt. Archana Bombe-Gholap here. Present on this occasion were Ramesh Kadu, President of Shri Mahalakshmi Mandir, Jalgaon, Vice-President Suresh Rewale, Suresh Bhambid, Vasant Wadkar, Satish Joshi of Shri Dev Ganapati Mandir, Prasad Phatak, along with devout Hindus activists Sunandan Bhave, Rakesh Gurav, Sudhir Salvi of Shri Chandika Mandir, Ladghar, as well as Paresh Gujarathi, Chandrakant Ujal, and Sharad Pawar of the HJS.
