Today, the Nation and Hindu Dharma have been engulfed by various problems such as terrorism, conversion of faith, blind emulation of the western culture, desecration of idols and temples of Hindu deities, etc. The gravest attack on the Hindu Dharma today is the declaration of religious places illegal by the administration. The list of unauthorized religious places brought out by the government includes ancient temples that are 350 to 500 years old. In this context, the HJS has launched a state wide campaign in this regard. As a part of this campaign, the HJS has conducted meetings at Pedne, Mapusa, Panaji, Ponda, Margao, Curchorem, Canacona, Vasco, Bicholim, etc. and has met with trustees of various temples of Goa. Signature campaigns have also been conducted at various places in Goa. The HJS has furnished a memorandum containing valuable suggestions for safeguarding temples to the Chief Minister. The outcome of this campaign is that various temples have corresponded with the committees set up by the administration in this regard. The HJS has appealed to the trustees and devotees of all temples to attend the Sabha at Panaji and intends to warn the government not to take action against small and big temples without taking the general public into confidence.

To achieve this, the HJS has appealed to all the trustees and devotees of all the temples, irrespective of whether or not they have been included in the list of unauthorized temples, to attend the Sabha and unite to protest against this. The Panaji Dharmajagruti Sabha will have speakers such as Dr. Suraj Kanekar, Gos in-charge of Patanjali Yog; Mr. Mahesh Mulik, Dharmashakti Sena; Mrs. Shubha Sawant, Ranaragini branch; Mr. Ramesh Naik, Shivsena ex-Goa chief and Mr. Jayesh Thali, HJS’ Goa Spokesperson. In this regard, a vehicle rally has been arranged at Panaji on April 20th to propagate information about the Sabha.
