Will CIDCO show guts and grant permission to Hindus for their temple in an area where Muslims are in majority ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat

Residents of Sanpada staging demonstrations for removing reservation of plot for building mosque in an area where Hindus are in majority

Navi Mumbai : Hindus from Navi Mumbai took out a march on 21st July exhibiting unity and demanded that plot of land No. 17- A, in Sector 8 of Sanpada, reserved for past 18 years, for building a mosque should be cancelled. CIDCO has been kowtowing to Muslims and if it tries patience of Hindus, it can lead to outbreak of their sentiments creating law and order problem. The above warning was given during the protest march taken out on 21st July.

Residents of Sanpada have been making this demand for past 18 years with CIDCO administration; but no firm stand has so far been taken by CIDCO in this connection. (Where is the need for such administration that pays no attention to local people’s demand for 18 years? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) Wrong decision taken by CIDCO administration regarding reservation of plot of land has become a headache for Hindus. Hindus are demanding that CIDCO should present its side in Court properly and cancel reservation of plot for mosque; but many years have elapsed and CIDCO has not been taking firm stand on the issue. The matter has become sensitive only due to CIDCO administration, accuse residents of Sanpada. Such indifferent administration of CIDCO has resulted in creating furor amongst local residents, culminating in their coming on streets and blocking the roads at Sanpada-Turbhe.

After demonstrations, a march was taken to CIDCO Bhavan at Belapur and a representation was submitted by delegation of the march to the Managing Director of CIDCO, Shri. Bhushan Gagarani. (Hindus should not sit quietly after submitting representation but follow up with administration till action is taken on their demand. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Shri. Kailas Tajane, Shri. Ghanashyam Pate, Shri. Milind Suryarao, Shri. Santosh Pachlag, Shri. Ajay Pawar, Shri. Mama Mahale, Shri. Sunil Chavan of ‘Akhil Sanpada Rahivasi Mahasangh’, Shri. Somnath Vaskar, municipal councilor, city-Chief Shri. Vijay Mane, Shri. Ajay Mudape, of RSS, Dr. Uday Dhuri, Mumbai-spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS); besides representatives of Hindu Mahasabha, Shri Shivapratishthan Hindustan, Sanatan Sanstha etc participated.

CIDCO’s Gagarani promised the delegation to hold a meeting soon for finding solution. CIDCO’s Joint Managing Director, Rajendra Chavan gave patient hearing to what Sanpada residents had to say. All Hindu vendors closed down their shops in support of the agitation and to oppose reservation of plot for a mosque.

Background of the issue

1. In the year 1998, a plot of land was reserved in an area in Sanpada for construction of a mosque, where Hindus are in majority. Muslim population is not much there and there are already enough prayer houses for them. The NOC they have obtained from police seems to be unauthentic. Now, it is learnt that the Municipal Corporation is all set to grant permission for construction. (Police and local administrations object to Hindus’ celebrating their festivals in Muslim pre-dominant area during Muslims’ festivals but they grant permission for mosques in areas where Hindus are in majority. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

2. Local Hindus have raised voice against this issue several times. In the year 2013, they had taken out a huge march and demanded withdrawal of reservation for building a mosque. Thereafter, a meeting was held between local Hindu and Muslim residents along with local elected representatives, police and administration. It was also decided to allocate a plot for mosque in some other area, instead of area where Hindus are in majority; but Muslims have now discarded that decision and filed a petition in Court.
