Varanasi : In what would rake up controversy, posters have surfaced in Varanasi depicting BJP`s new state chief Keshav Maurya as Lord Krishna.

In the poster, state Uttar Pradesh is being symbolised by Draupadi and opposition leaders have been portrayed as Kauravas.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi have been portrayed as Kauravas stripping Draupadi in the poster. The face of the woman portrayed as Draupadi has been blurred.

The poster is undersigned by BJP worker Rupesh Pandey.

A slogan is also written on a poster: ‘Kalyug mein Keshav keval updesh nahin dete, Ranbhoomi mein yuddh karte hain.’
