Angry reaction of Mr. Malagonda Patil’s brother !

Make an enquiry of the inert police of Jat for not letting the relatives claim the body of the dead!

Will the human rights organisation from Maharashtra be able to expose this situation and give justice to the relatives of Mr. Malgonda Patil?

The recklessness of the police to hand over the body of the deceased in the Margao blast, Mr. Malgonda Patil, continues even after eight days. Mr. Shailesh Patil,  brother of Mr. Malgonda, expressed his complain about the inert nature of the police to the representative of the daily Sanatan Prabhat. Following is the complain in his own words;

“The police have shown non-cooperation towards releasing the body of my brother Mr. Malagonda, who was killed in a blast in Margao. Later through our Advocate we sent them a notice, as we were left with no choice. Even then we did not receive any reply from the police. Therefore, on 24 October, at 10 am we called Mr. Santosh Desai, the police officer at the Margao police station. (Anti-people  mentality of the police – of not responding to the legal notice sent by the common citizen! From this one can see that the police have forgotten that they are ‘public servants’! – Editor SP)

At that time Mr. Desai said that “we have already sent the message to Jatt police station two times regarding the dead body. However you still get the intimation (the message) along with you and claim the body. “  (In reality the relatives of Mr. Malagonda had reached the Margao police station at the time allocated by the police. Despite of that they had to return back without the body due to the highly inefficient ways of police system.  Now the police are calling them back to claim the dead body- this means more expenditure and not to mention the unnecessary stress they had to face for the past eight days! Why do we need such police system? – Editor SP)

Later we contacted the Jatt police station. Police Constable Daberao informed us that “We received the message last night. You can come and take the body.” (If they had received the message the previous night, then why were the relatives (related people) not informed about it in time? The police did not leave a simple message with the relatives regarding the dead body. This insensitive and irresponsible nature of the police is making us revolutionise our thoughts! – Editor SP) They brushed up the matter by saying; ‘we were trying to contact you on phone, but could not get connected.’

On the night of 22 October, the message relating to the dead body was sent from the Margao police station to Jatt police station. On which it was the necessary for the Jatt police to inform us about it. But when the relatives called the Jatt police station on 24 October, they were told about the message that the police had received from Goa on the phone.

Before this, the police had come to our house on 17 October, at 5 am for the enquiry and now at the time of claiming of the dead body, we were not informed even after two days. Why was that? From all these incidents, by just thinking about themselves, doubts have been created in our minds that the police are trying to mentally harass us(the relatives)  We are talking legal advice on this matter.”
