Success of Hindu unity : M F Husain’s paintings removed from ‘Thane Festival’

Thane : An exhibition of paintings called ‘Picasso to Husain’ was to be held in ‘Art Festival – 2016’ at Kalwa. In this exhibition, paintings by M F Husain, who was an anti-national and anti-Hindu painter and had painted obscene, denigrating pictures of Hindu Deities and Bharatmata, were also to be exhibited. This exhibition would have glorified Husain; therefore, a complaint was lodged with Thane Police Commissioner by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti opposing to exhibition of Husain’s work.

A press conference was held by like-minded organizations creating awareness amongst people towards this matter. Police Department, therefore, instructed the organizers not to include Husain’s paintings in the exhibition. As a result, not a single painting of Husain was on display except a knitted handicraft piece based on Husain’s painting.
