Police on patrol in the temple premises fail to nab the culprits; angry locals protest by blocking the Sanvordem-Dharbandora road

Goa: Some iconoclasts desecrated two idols of Sree Rakhandev deity situated in Sree Sateri temple and three idols situated nearby in three small temples in the Kalsai-Dabhal region of Sanguem taluka at 2 am past midnight on 7th November. The important feature of this incident is that the police patrolling the temple premises could not nab the culprits inspite of realising that something was fishy due to the alertness of the latter. The local residents agitated by blocking the Sanvordem-Dharbandora road in order to prevent the culprits from fleeing from the village and to protest against the inefficiency of the police.
