‘Where is the need for vulgar websites when Sunny Leone getting recognition through movies ?’

Mumbai : A case has been filed against former porn-star Sunny Leone at Dombivali police station and her statement was recorded at Police Commissioner’s office at Thane. Sunny Leone has argued that as per the news published here, whatever she had done was in past, in USA where obscenity is accepted; then why should she be punished here ? In fact, her vulgar videos are available even today on her websites. She should follow Indian Laws when she is in India. If she is getting recognition through Indian films, why shouldn’t she close her indecent websites, was the question asked through a press release, by Dr. Uday Dhuri, Mumbai Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).

It has been stated in the press release that …

  1. Owing to the aura around the name Sunny Leone, many Indians are visiting her vulgar websites. She charges membership fees to them; therefore, rather than the issue of when such indecent videos were recorded, it is more serious that even today, their sale is going on. The offence is not due to what she did earlier, but it is because of the spread of obscenity and its sale by her.
  2. Sunny Leone has been getting recognition in Indian film industry as also has adequate earnings through these films, then why can’t she express regret over past and close all her indecent websites ?
  3. In fact, she has been earning money by working in Indian films and using that fame for selling obscenity, thus making double use of her status; moreover, she is trying to show her innocence by asking why should she be punished for her past ? In such case, tomorrow, even ISIS terrorists would stay in India and plead that they should not be punished for their earlier life.
  4. It is our demand that if Sunny Leone was going to continue her indecent websites despite filing of cases against her in India, she should be stringently punished as per Indian laws and the Indian Government should show that obscenity of westerners would not be sold in India.
