Pandharpur (Maharashtra): A case has been filed against the artist Shri Dilip Sharma and the editor, the printer and the publisher of daily ‘Mumbai Mirror’ (a Times of India publication) in Azad Maidan police station in Mumbai by Shri Dwaipayan Varkhedkar for denigrating Hindus’ most revered Deity, Lord Hanuman. “The case has been filed under section 295(A), 34 of Indian Penal Code and necessary action will shortly be taken against the accused,” informed the police inspector to Shri Dwaipayan Varkhedkar. (Hearty congratulations to Shri Dwaipayan Varkhedkar for his boldness to drag the culprits to police station! – Editor).

Shri Varkhedkar, who is the editor of the daily ‘Sanskruti’ in Pandharpur (Maharashtra) has also dragged the anti-Hindu painter M.F. Husain to court (Such ardent Hindus are very much required everywhere! The day is not far off when the other Hindus will also learn a thing or two from Shri Varkhedkar and follow suit! – Editor). All the accused will have to face legal action now.

A news item about the denigration was published on page 1 of Dainik Sanatan Prabhat on 8th April 2007. Acting on the news, Shri Varkhedkar lodged a complaint with the Pandharpur police station. The Azad Maidan police station in Mumbai made enquiries and filed a case in this regard. (Why so much is required to case the file? Why police act very fastly if case of defamation is filed by Muslim or Christian? – Editor).
