Sanatan Sanstha and HJS enlighten students on Valentine

Mumbai: Seekers of Sanatan Sanstha and Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) visited many colleges in Mumbai and circulated pamphlets on celebration of ‘Valentine’s Day’. They explained to the students that it is not in our culture to celebrate such perverted things. Most of the students expressed their views against celebrating this Day.

In Sathye and Dahanukar College, students asked for the pamphlets and put across their views that instead of celebrating such Days, one should celebrate birth or death anniversaries of freedom fighters. Students from Keerti College offered to join activities undertaken by HJS related to Hindu Dharma and culture. Teachers from Elphinstone College and teachers and non-teaching staff of Yashodham Junior College took the pamphlets from members of HJS for distribution. Members of HJS distributed the pamphlets in other colleges in suburbs like Matruchhaya College, Gokhale College, Saraswati College, Nirmala College, Thakur College etc.

Police duress

Students from HR and KC colleges near Churchgate which are under great influence of Western culture, had no idea about who was Valentine. The students were in favour of celebrating this Day as they said it was the Day to express love. The lady-police on duty outside these colleges threatened members of HJS that they would be rounded up in case they distributed pamphlets. (Police are not bothered about our youth under Western influence. Such things later culminate into incidents like the one happened on 31st December! – Editor). Later, the members of HJS requested the newspaper vendors to distribute pamphlets through the newspapers. They agreed to do so. HJS members distributed pamphlets to the passersby and in nearby buildings.
