Modi is a demon, Sonia Goddess Durga: Congress

New Delhi: Invoking Hindu mythology at the fag end of Gujarat Assembly poll campaign, the Congress on Friday described Sonia Gandhi as ‘Goddess Durga’ and Chief Minister Narendra Modi the demon.

The party also countered BJP’s attack over Parliament attack convict Mohd. Afzal Guru by equating its leaders L. K. Advani and Modi with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

"Modi is not accountable to anyone, be it the people, the Constitution or his own party High Command.. He is like ‘Raktabijasura’, whose single drop of blood can give rise to thousands of more ‘Rakshasas’," Moily said.

He further said Modi was like ‘Mahisasura’ or ‘Bhasmasura’, who cannot see anyone but his nemesis Goddess Durga, who in his case is Gandhi.

At the briefing, in which the party appeared to have pulled out all stops, Moily even said Modi was like Hitler. "Modi is attracting crowds. But even Hitler attracted crowds. The people are coming for fear of victimisation," he said, adding ‘as for his oratory skills, even Hitler’s oratory skills were unbeatable. Do you want another Hitler in the country?
