Denigration of Hindu deities through Haribhajan Saptah

Jalgaon (Maharashtra): The Sree Mahakaleshvar Bahudeshiya Sanstha had organised a Haribhajan Saptah. The readers of the Harikatha, devotees of Lord Hari denigrated Hindu deities in the name of recreation. The five hundred odd devotees present at the Saptah reciprocated the ridicule of deities by laughing. The function concluded with people in Muslim attire invoking Allah. When seekers of the Sanatan Sanstha tried to stop this they were told about ‘equality towards all religions’. Examples of how some kirtan and Harikatha narrators who have no true religious knowledge and want only fame denigrated Hindu deities are given below:

Lord Hanuman said to a deevotee, "All through my life no one gave his daughter’s hand in marriage that is why I remained celibate. From where will I give you a girl?"

Deity Shitalamatadevi said to a devotee. “I did not get a horse to ride on so I am riding on a donkey.” (Then the kirtan narrator said that the donkey was the vehicle of this deity.)

(The true enemies of Hinduism are Hindus themselves. Why need deities protect Hindus in crisis when they ridicule their own deities? Will Muslims even utter Names of Hindu deities in their programmes? These convenors of equality of all religions are unware that for Muslims they are ‘kafirs’ worthy of being killed by Muslim terrorists. – Editor)
