Mumbai: In view of the threat by terrorists to attack Siddhivinayak temple, devotees have been prohibited from carrying coconut and big garlands in the temple. Shri. Shrikant Pathak, additional Superintendent of Police has now made a similar demand for putting a ban on carrying coconuts, garlands, flowers as also mobile phones even in Sai Baba temple at Shirdi. Security around the Sai temple has been tightened and police have cautioned people to be alert. Information has been received by the Intelligence Bureau about terrorists targeting important religious places in the country. In this background, police have taken such steps. In the area of Sai Baba temple, 70 policemen with 5 police officers have been engaged and additional 30 policemen are going to be provided. Temple administration has fixed cameras at crowded places.

(The tradition of offering coconut and flowers to God has science behind it. It is to receive the divine energy from God through their medium. By imposing a ban on this the secular government is impinging on the religious freedom of Hindus. Would they dare to do such things to Muslims or Christians? Such measures by the government cannot control the menace of terrorism. Hindus should realize that this is an indirect attack on Hindu Dharma and awake and protest -Editor)
