Kerala: Kerala Education and Culture Minister M A Baby received a threat that he would "face consequences" for the government’s decision to confer the prestigious Raja Ravivarma award on renowned artist M F Hussain. The prestigious award was given to anti-Hindu Painter M F Hussain.

Official sources here said the minister received an e-mail with the threat after the announcement of the award. Police had begun investigations into the matter, the sources said. Hussain’s allegedly derogatory paintings of Hindu deities had sparked a row and a Uttar Pradesh court’s warrant against him.
