HJS protest: Denigrating picture removed

Pune: An organization called ‘Kalateertha’ held an exhibition of pictures titled ‘Setu – 2007’ during 25 and 27th April at Bal Gandharva art gallery. In this exhibition, there were pictures of Lord Ganesh in various attires like a tailor stitching clothes, in an attire of a wrestler, as a fish etc. Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) saw these pictures in the exhibition. They approached the organizers of the exhibition and explained to them about how the pictures cause denigration of the deity and hurt feelings of Hindus and requested them to withdraw such pictures from the exhibition. Initially, the organizers tried to avoid talking to the members of HJS; but after listening to the explanation given by the HJS members, they agreed to remove the controversial pictures from the exhibition although not very willingly as they felt that there was nothing wrong with the pictures. They told HJS members that the pictures were drawn by young children and they will have to answer their parents for removing the pictures. On the following day, it was noticed that the above mentioned pictures were covered by white paper with a remark that owing to objection of HJS, the picture were withdrawn.

(Congratulations to HJS members for taking immediate action to stop denigration of deity. When every Hindu becomes so alert, nobody will dare to denigrate our deities. The organizers need to be imparted Dharma-shikshan as such anti-Hindus are detrimental to Hindu Dharma. – Editor)
