Karnataka : National Hindu Movement opposes ‘Jiziya’ like tax on Hindu pilgrims

Karwar (Karnataka) : National Hindu Movement (Rashtreeya Hindu Andolan) along with like minded Hindu organizations staged an intense agitation in front of the Joint Commisioner's office on the 3rd of March. They were protesting the 'Jiziya' like tax on Hindu religious pilgrimages imposed by the Government. Shri Sagar Kurdekar (HJS), Shri BG Mohan (Vishwa Hindu Parishad), Smt. Shobha Gavkar (Sanatan Sanstha), Advocate Dhanalakshmi Haldankar and members of proHindu organizations took part in the protest.

A similar protest was also held by the Bhatkal Branch of the Movement in Bhakal. Messrs. Devanand Prabhu, Kashinath Prabhu, Somesh Gurav and AN Pai (all from HJS), Messrs. Vasant Kharvi, Shridhar Nayak, Shankar Sheety, Mrutyunjay Achari, Nagaraj Shet, Rajesh Kamath, Trustees of all temples, leaders of Vishwas Hindu parishad and repesentatives of various proHindu organizations took part in the protest.
