Malkapur (Dist. Kolhapur) : The perverted tradition of celebrating Valentine Day should be banned. Atrocities against minority Hindus from Bangladesh should be stopped; they should be given shelter in India and a team of judges should be sent to Bangladesh for protection of human rights. The above demands were made in demonstrations held on 5th February at Subhash Chowk at 11.30 a.m. After the demonstrations, representations were given to Principal, Dr. Vijay Sawant of Dr. N. D. Patil College, Principal H. J. Patil of J. R. Warange Junior College, Head Mistress R. S. Hakim of ‘New English School for Girls’ under the initiative of devout Hindu Shri. Sanjay Rede.

Nipani (Dist. Belgaum) : Representation was submitted to Tehsildar Patil and Dy. Police Inspector Dheeraj Shinde on 4th February for prevention of perverted practice of celebrating Valentine’s Day. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Shri. Vijay Chavan, Shri. Sandip Jadhav, Shri. Uday Patil, Shri. Shriniwas Chavan, Shri. Chandrakant Raktade, Shri. Yogesh Chougule, Shri. Amit Habal, Shri. Ramesh Patil and Shri. Rakesh Kulkarni etc. were present on the occasion.

Solapur : ‘Wrong practices are spreading in society due to celebration of Valentine Day and it is destroying purity in relationships. Every Hindu should try to put curb on such wrong doings. Starting with own family, we can try to stop this practice of celebrating Valentine’s Day,’ stated Shri. Bapu Dhage, a staunch Hindu and former municipal councilor during demonstrations held in front of District Collector’s office by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Yoga Vedanta Samiti, Kesari Pratishthan under Rashtreeya Hindu Andolan.

Sou. Rajashree Tiwari of HJS said, “The Government is not against Bangladeshi infiltrators; in fact, it is taking good care of them; but Hindu refugees who have come from Pakistan and Bangladesh are not given shelter by the Government. It is a very unfortunate thing for Hindus. Hindus should come forward and try to help their brethren.”

Other participants in the demonstrations were Shri. Kedar Pujari of Kesari Pratishthan, Shri. Ramesh Kulkarni, Yogiraj Harsure of Yoga Vedanta Samiti, ‘Ajoba Ganapati Trust’s Shri. Gangadhar Gavasane, Shri. Rajesh Pukale, Gopanpalli, Pravin Gujjar, Parashuram Inchage, Vyankatesh Madgundi, Sanatan Sanstha’s Sou. latika Pailwan, Shri. Hiralal Tiwari, Sou. Shridevi Patil, Sou. Dingare and HJS’ Shri. Ramesh Awar, Satyanarayan Kanki, Shriniwas Gopanpalli etc. About 70 devout Hindus took part in demonstrations.

Dy. District Collector, Shri. Shankar Jadhav said while receiving the representation that it was a commendable drive and he would try his best to prevent wrong things happening on the occasion.” Shri. Ashok Bhange, Education officer said that letters would be sent to schools in this connection.
