HJS condemns killing of 5 Hindus in JK

Mumbai: An inhuman incident of the killing of five Hindus by terrorists occurred yesterday in Kashmir. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) condemns this incident. The apathy of the ruling Congress Government towards Kashmiri Hindus is solely responsible for the same. On one hand, the Government is not effecting the death penalty of Mohammed Afzal, the terrorist who masterminded the attack on the Indian Parliament, while on the other hand, it is secretly effecting a reduction in the armed forces in Kashmir. Thus, terrorists are thriving on this situation and killing more and more Hindus.

From the facts, it is apparent that the serial killings of Hindus in the Kashmir valley is no longer a cause of concern for the Government. This war started by terrorists since the year 1990 has claimed the lives of 93 thousand Kashmiri Hindus and has forced 4 lakhs Kashmiri pandits to flee from their land and take refuge in other regions. These Kashmiri pandits are living as refugees in refugee camps till date as they cannot go back to their homes. The Indian Army has lost 68 thousand soldiers in this war. This number is so huge that it appears to be the death toll of soldiers fighting for a World War. It is very unfortunate that the Government is ignoring the severity of the situation despite such facts! The Government views every situation in terms of votes; this is evident from the fact that the victims of the Mumbai blasts were offered 5 lakhs rupees as compensation whereas those of the Samjhauta blasts 10 lakhs! This, in itself proves that the lives of Hindus carry little value in the eyes of the Congress Government.

The negligence of the Congress Government to the systematic and planned serial killings of Hindus in one part of the nation is a serious fact to which the Human Rights Associations have also kept mum. Thus, it has become imperative for Hindus to stand up firmly and strongly fight against this injustice. The HJS appeals to all Hindus to protest against the killings of Hindu brethren by submitting memorandums to the Government in this regard and staging agitations to create public awareness at the local level, in order to wake the Government up from its slumber.
