‘What is the need for Hindus to seek permission from Muslims’ for celebrating their festivals in a ‘secular’ country ?’ – Gayathri N

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s ‘Special interaction’

‘The administration is forced to block traffic routes during Muslim religious events, by blocking Government and public spaces. If this is the case, why do Hindus have to take permission from Muslims for Ganeshotsav in Coimbatore ? This is a direct attack on Indian Democracy and religious freedom of Hindus. If this continued, India would soon become ‘Dar-ul-Islam’. When India is a ‘secular’ country, why do Hindus need permission from Muslims to celebrate Hindu festivals ? Do Muslims and Christians ever take permission from Hindus for their celebrations ?’ such a tough question was asked by Gayatri N., the founder of ‘Bharat Voice’. She was speaking in an ‘online’ interaction on the topic ‘Ganeshotsav: Why permission from Muslim society needed ?’, organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

On the occasion, Shriram Sene’s leader of Karnataka State Mr. Gangadhar Kulkarni said, “There is strong opposition from Muslims in Hubli to Hindus for celebrating Ganeshotsav on the land belonging to Hindus. The same is also going on in Bangalore. Muslims are also strongly opposed to hoisting the national flag on the ground in Hubballi. In the past, 6 people were killed in firing over a dispute over the hoisting of the national flag there. This is a ‘Land Jihad’ to usurp the land of Hubballi when the Hindu Mutt allows the Muslims to offer Namaz only twice a year. It is pointless to say ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ (culture) in the place of Hindus by those who oppose the celebration of Hindus. Hindus need to wake up now against the injustice being done to their Dharma”.

Karnataka Advocate Shubha Naik said, “Only because Muslims reside in excess in a place, Hindus are not allowed to celebrate Ganeshotsav. As a whole, the condition of Hindus in the country has worsened. If this continued, Hindus would have to take permission from Muslims even to enter that place tomorrow”.

Karnataka State Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Mr. Mohan Gowda said, “Stone were pelted and arson was committed by religious fanatics during festivals like Sriramnavami, Hindu New Year procession, Navratri, etc. Hindus were also killed in these incidents. If this continued, what happened in Kashmir would happen all over the country. Since Namaz is offered twice a year, the Hubli Maidan in Karnataka is not given to Hindus to celebrate Ganeshotsav. Muslims and Waqf Board are claiming its ownership. If tomorrow Namaz is offered on the road, the Muslims may claim that the road is also the property of Waqf Board. In the year 2013, due to the brute force applied by the Congress, Manmohan Singh Government made changes in the Wakf Act and the Wakf Board became the owner of more than 6.5 lakh acres of land across the country. Due to this illegal Act, the country itself is in danger of coming under their control. Therefore, the Central Government should repeal this law”.
