Online lecture on ‘Pitru-Paksha’ by HJS in Patanjali Yoga Samiti’s program

Chennai : On 25th September 2021, ‘Patanjali Yoga Samiti’ had organised a special online lecture. Pujya (Mrs) Uma Ravichandran of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) addressed the participants.

The ‘Pranayam’ session conducted by Patanjali Yoga Samiti was held in the beginning as usual. Thereafter, Pujya (Mrs) Uma Ravichandran explained the importance of chanting the name of Shri Datta during ‘Pitru-Paksha’. Pujya (Mrs) Uma Ravichandran explained about the birth of Bhagavan Datta and His qualities. She also explained the need for chanting Shri Datta’s name in ‘Pitru-Paksha’. The curious participants asked various questions related to ‘Pitru-Paksha’ such as whether ‘Mahalaya Shraaddha’ can be performed when both the parents are alive; if it can be performed when the mother is not alive; alternative for performing ‘shraaddha’ on another ‘tithi’ if the actual ‘tithi’ is not suitable,’ etc. All questions were answered from all angles by Pujya (Mrs) Uma Ravichandran. The online lecture was organised by Mrs Prafullata Ramchandran, the Acharya of Patanjali Yoga Samiti.
