Kerala HC says no to Kerala Govt’s order of auctioning Hindu temple assets

In a major order on Wednesday, The Kerala high Court ruled against the State Government’s move of auctioning antique utensils and lamps of Hindu temples. The judgement came in response to a petition filed by an NGO named Hindu Seva Kendra (HSK).

“Once again legal victory for @HinduSevaKendra against Communists. High Court ordered not to auction lamps and utensils of Temples. Before High Court stayed it and today ordered not to sell it. Communists are seeking one or other way to loot our Temples. Wont let them touch it,” Advocate Pratheesh Viswanath of HSK wrote on twitter.

Earlier on Tuesday, the High Court stayed the Malabar Devaswom board’s decision of mandatorily giving 1 lakh from each Temple’s fund and a part of employees’ salary to CM relief fund. This judgement also came in response to a HSK petition.

Both the decisions of mandatorily contributing from the temple funds and auctioning important assets was made by the Government authorities in late may.

Pratheesh Viswanath is a well known right wing activist from Kerala. He is popular for his legal actions to protect the Hindu interests.
