#LeftistsLootKeralaTemples trends as Hindus protest loot of temples’ wealth by Leftists’ Kerala Govt

The Guruvayur Devaswom’s contribution of Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund sparked a fresh controversy. Last month, Travancore Devasom Board (TDB) had decided to deposit Gold and Silver jewellery belonging to more than 1200+ temples (including Sabarimala) in RBI to gain ‘interest’ from it. Recently N.Vasu, the president of TDB told media that due to ongoing lockdown, the state of affairs of temples is pretty bad and it may be even difficult to conduct daily Pujas in temples. In such difficult time, Kerala Govt. is trying to take money from temples. Also, it must be noted that this Govt. has not asked any other places of worship of non-Hindu faiths to ‘donate’.

To protest against this unfortunate decision and ongoing loot of temples, Hindus took to Twitter and started tweeting with hashtag #LeftistsLootKeralaTemples. More than 50,000 tweets were tweeted using this hashtag and it became one of the top 10 national trends on Twitter in India. For several hours, the trend was on 3rd spot in national top trends and hence the protest reached to millions of people.
