#LootTemplesGiftMinorities trends as Hindus protest against loot of temples and appeasement of minorities by Govts

The Tamil Nadu government has asked 47 temples to donate total of rupees 10 crores to the CM Relief Fund to fight Coronavirus. But on the hand, the state government has ordered the distribution of 5,450 tonnes of free rice to 2,985 mosques of the state on April 16 in the month of Ramzan. No similar help or plan is given to prepare offerings to the village deities of Hindus during Chaitra and other months.

A lot of priests depend entirely on donations from devotees. They are now stranded and facing starvation due to the coronavirus epidemic and the nationwide shutdown. The state government instead of helping them, has targeted the property of Hindu temples to pursue appeasement politics.

Devout Hindus are outraged against such discrimination of Hindus and appeasement of minorities for votes by the Governments. Hindus took to Twitter to raise their concerns and voice their protests against such misdeeds of so-called secular govts with hashtag #LootTempleGiftMinorities. Netizens tweeted more than 50,000 tweets using this hashtag and it became one of the top 10 national trends on Twitter in India. For few hours, the trend was on 3rd spot. It remained in top 10 trends from at least 4 hours.

Here are some of the tweets from the trend :

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti urged Tamil Nadu CM and HR&CE Minister through Twitter, to take back GO directing temples to donate funds to CM relief fund and instead help poojaris (temple priests) facing hardships.
