Were these Mughal Kings and Afzal Khan so great that so many pages are written on them in history text books? – asks enraged Eknath Khadase

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Earlier, history of great leaders, mythological stories and poems used to be included in the curriculum; besides, Sanskrut language which preserved our culture used to be taught; but then the State Government changed its education policy which curtailed or even omitted the history of ideal kings like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and greatly respected leaders. The history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is given in 4 lines and the history of Afzal Khan and Mughal kings has been expanded 4 times. Were these Mughal kings so great that pages after pages are written on them? Asked the Opposition leader Mr. Eknath Khadase angrily and said that such curriculum is not inculcating good culture among children; then how will they be able to lead this country in future? He made a demand that there was need to totally change the curriculum. He was talking on the point of grants by school education department in the budget for the year 2011-12.
