Rashtriya Hindu Andolan held successfully at Vasco (Goa)

Govt. should cancel its decision of taking over Shri Shanaishwar shrine : Demand by Hindu organisations

Vasco : Corrupt practices, irregularities and unrighteous behavior is being encouraged in temples so far taken over by the Government in Maharashtra; so, Maharashtra Government should cancel its decision of taking over management of Shri Shanaishwar shrine of Shani Shingnapur and Karnataka Government should cancel its decision of naming ‘Haj House’ after cruel Hindus’ oppressor Tipu Sultan since it would amount to his glorification. The above demands were made during demonstrations staged under the aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’ on Saturday, 14th July, in front of Murgaon municipality’s office by all pro-Hindu organizations. It was a part of nation-wide drive undertaken under RHA.

The demonstrations were started by blowing of conch. Sou. Rajashree Gadekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) explained the purpose of holding such demonstrations; followed with ‘Hindutvavadis’ addressing the demonstrators. Gist of the addresses is given below.

1. During the recently held State Assembly elections in Karnataka, BJP had declared in its manifesto that it would hand over management of all temples to Hindus which were earlier taken over by the Government. The same BJP Government is, however, taking over management of temples from Hindus in Maharashtra. As per the directions given by Supreme Court, secular government has no right to manage Hindus’ temples. It should only try to overcome shortcomings in managing temples and hand them over to people for managing. Even then, BJP Government has decided to take over Shri Shanaishwar shrine at Shani Shinganapur. Considering the serious scams committed by temples taken over by the State Government, it is most improper and condemnable on the part of the Government to take decision of takeover of one more temple by Govt; instead of sorting out matters related to earlier scams.

2. Tipu Sultan has been mentioned as a cruel Islamic Ruler who had inordinately persecuted Hindus; who had destroyed more than 8000 temples in southern part of India; was involved in cow-slaughtering and damaging temples. Taking into account such historical background of Tipu Sultan, Congress Government seems to be appeasing Muslims by naming Haj House after him. Shri. Satyavijay Naik of HJS presented resolutions in the end of demonstrations; whereas Shri. Govind Chodankar of HJS did compeering of the program.
