Mumbai: The National Flag, an identity of our Nation is hoisted with great respect on the Republic Day on 26th January and Independence Day on 15th August; but within short period, the same flags made of plastic and paper are thrown on the roads and trampled by people resulting in abuse of the flag. The Central Government has issued an order banning use of plastic and paper flags; but such flags are used openly.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has therefore, made a demand that steps should be taken to prevent abuse of National Flag taking place in the above manner and the Administration should implement the Government instructions. A representation to the above effect was submitted to Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav, the Mayor of Mumbai in her office by delegation of HJS. The delegation comprised of Mr. Satish Sonar, Mr. Rajanikant Bhatkar, Mr. Mohan Shinde and Miss Suguna Gujjetti of HJS.
