Joint event by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Hindu Rashtra Sena marks 350th Anniversary of Netaji Palkar’s historic re-conversion
Solapur, Maharashtra – “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj set a new ideal for Hindu society by performing the ‘shuddhikaran’ (reconversion to Hindu Dharma) of his Commander-in-Chief, Netaji Palkar. Even today, society must unite to prevent religious conversions taking place through deception, inducements, and conspiracies such as love jihad. We should not merely read history but become the Mavalas (Shivaji Maharaj’s warriors) who create history. Every Hindu must resolve to strongly oppose ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ and work towards the realisation of ‘Bhagwa-e-Hind’,” appealed Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh State Organiser of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

He was addressing a special programme jointly organised by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Hindu Rashtra Sena on the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Shuddhikaran Din’ at Lotus Multipurpose Hall, Ashok Chowk, Solapur. The programme was organised to commemorate the 350th anniversary, according to the Hindu lunar calendar, of the Shuddhikaran (Ghar wapsi) of Netaji Palkar, the second Commander-in-Chief of Hindavi Swarajya.
Call to welcome converted Hindus back into Hindu Dharma
Shri. Sunil Ghanwat further stated that Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj endured inhuman torture and sacrificed his life for Dharma, but never accepted conversion to another religion. Every Hindu should imbibe the same unwavering spirit. He also emphasised that the doors of Hindu society should always remain open to respectfully welcome converted Hindus back into Hindu Dharma.
Formal re-entry of 5 individuals into the Hindu faith
Significantly, marking this historic occasion, five individuals who had been converted to other religions, voluntarily underwent the Shuddhikaran ceremony and formally re-entered Hindu Dharma in Solapur. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti also appealed to the entire Hindu society to observe this day as ‘Rashtriya Shuddhikaran Din’.

Society must make united efforts to reach out to converted Hindus – Ravi Gone (Hindu Rashtra Sena)
Sharing his experiences, Shri. Ravi Gone of the Hindu Rashtra Sena said that continuous efforts to bring converted Hindus back to Hindu Dharma have received a positive response from society. Even today, many converted individuals wish to return to the Hindu fold, and therefore, society must make united efforts to reach out to them and facilitate their respectful return.

Large-scale religious conversions have unfortunately resulted in Hindus becoming a minority in several areas where they were once the majority. This is not merely a religious issue but a grave challenge to the very existence of the Nation and Dharma. To effectively counter this challenge, Hindu society must become more vigilant, united, and proactive.

Addressing the gathering, Mahant Mavjinath Maharaj said, “The Bhagavad Gita teaches that even death while following one’s own Dharma is auspicious, whereas embracing another religion is spiritually harmful. The concepts of Moksha and liberation exist in Hindu Dharma, and liberation can be attained only through this Dharma. Therefore, Hindus should understand the greatness of their Dharma, create awareness among those vulnerable to conversion, and strive to keep them rooted in their own Dharma.”
Shri. Prasad Pandit (Presiding Dharmadhikari, Pradnyapuri Dnyanpeeth) also addressed the gathering regarding spiritual and social duties towards the protection of faith.
Collective resolve for ‘Bhagwa-e-Hind’
At the conclusion of the programme, the participants, inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, expressed their firm resolve to work for the protection of Dharma. A pledge was taken to intensify the work of awareness, organisation, and Shuddhikaran until every Hindu who has embraced another religion returns to Hindu Dharma with honour.
