Mangaluru: Commencement of Self Defence Classes By DSS

Mangluru (Karnataka): The Mangaluru centre of the Dharmashakti Sena, with the cooperation of the local people, commenced its self defense classes in the Sri Mahadev Temple premises, located at Maravoor on the outskirts of Mangaluru city. The President of the Maravoor Gram Panchayat Sau. Nirmala Chandrashekar and senior citizen Shri. Babu Yane Tyampanna Shetty inaugurated the programme by lighting of the lamp. Speaking on this occasion, the Dakshin Kannada Dist. spokesperson of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Vinod Kamat provided information about the Samiti’s activities. In his address, the State Convenor of the Dharmashakti Sena, Shri. Mohan Gowda emphasised the importance of training in self defense. He said that there are more than 179 terrorist organizations all over the country, which are spreading the web of terrorism in each and every village, and creating an atmosphere of terror all over the country. He called upon everyone to take up training in self defense since we cannot depend on corrupt politicians for our protection. He cited the examples of Adi Shankaracharya who combated the Kapaliks for the sake of Dharma and the Nation, and Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rana Pratap who fought with the Moghuls and said that we should take them as role models in our battle against evildoers.

Speaking on this occasion, Sau. Nirmala Chandrashekhar said that the today, our children do not know anything about our Dharma because parents themselves are ignorant about these matters. Against this background, the Dharmajagruti programmes arranged by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti are most important. Only if such programmes are organized in each and every village can we hope to create an interest amongst the Hindus to study their Dharma.

The programme ended with the rendering of ‘Vande Mataram’. About 50 people were present for this programme.

Highlights:

  1. Sau. Nirmala Chandrashekhar who was impressed with this programme, voluntarily showed a willingness to arrange self defense training classes in the neighbouring village too.
  2. In a village that comprises of 38 houses, 50 people were present for this programme and 20 boys participated in the self defense training classes as a part of fulfilling their religious duty.
