Appeal to devout Hindus

Hindustan Times has published this defamatory picture of Sri Nataraja, one of the forms of Sri Shiva and known as God of the art of dance. It has been shown that Sri Nataraja is holding a cricket ball in his hands and the picture is used as illustration for an article regarding Cricket World Cup. This is nothing but denigration of Sri Nataraja and it is duty of all Hindus worldwide to protest lawfully against Hindustan Times for publishing such a picture, so that it should render apology to all Hindus for hurting their religious sentiments and also it should not repeat such a mistake in the future.

The defamatory picture of Sri Nataraja was published in Hindustan Times’ – New Delhi Edition on 12 February 2011 on page no. 14. The link for online edition is : http://epaper.hindustantimes.com/PUBLICATIONS/HT/HD/2011/02/12/index.shtml

Subject : Denegration of Shri Nataraja in 12 Feb Hindusthan Times on page 14.

Dear all,

It has become the habbit of newspapers like Hindusthan Times to denegrate Hindu Gods and Godess in every possible way they can and same has been observed in the 12 Feb online edition of Hindusthan times while doing the publicity of so called sports book “Law and sports”.

Shri Nataraja is one of the forms of Shri Shiv and known as the God of art of dance. but in your newspaper it has been shown that Sri
Nataraja is holding a cricket ball in his hands and the picture is used as illustration for an article .

You do not dare to denegrate Jesus christ or the image of Muslim prophets but always denegrate Hindu Gods/saints/symbols. Hindu Gods are not meant for entertainment purpose and any attempt to denegrate Hindu Gods will not be tolerated and this is the offence under Indian Law and a case can be registered for the same.

This has hurt my religious sentiments and I appeal all of you to render apology for the use Shri Nataraja image in improper way and I
request you all to inform your add agencies and whomsoever it may concern to not denigrate Hindu gods/saints/religious symbols anymore. This should not be repeated in future otherwise other means of protest shall be used.

Waiting for your apology letter within 48 hours.

Regards,
Girish
